Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse Med Surg Tele and PCU patient population
Interpret telemetry strips and respond promptly to cardiac changes
Collaborate with the care team to manage patients recovering from surgery and complex medical conditions
Precept and mentor nursing students, helping shape the next generation of caregivers
Float to Multi Care Unit, Pediatrics, and West Campus as needed, expanding your clinical skills
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions while building meaningful patient connections

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience, telemetry experience preferred
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with 80% or higher within two attempts
Willingness to care for both MST and PCU level patients
Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility and not have worked at any CommonSpirit facility in the past year

Knowledge & Skills

Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
Comfort managing stable CPAP and BiPAP patients
Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to precept and support nursing students
Flexibility to float across multiple units and adapt to changing patient needs
