End Date: 09-21-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, self-scheduling with every third weekend requirement

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse Med Surg Ortho patient population including total joint replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, and oncology
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver hourly rounding and bedside shift reports that keep patients and families informed
Float to PCU and behavioral health units as needed, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to excellent care across settings
Administer medications and manage IV infusions while monitoring patient progress and responding promptly to changes in condition
Mentor and support nursing assistants and patient care techs to ensure seamless, team-based care delivery

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
Current BLS certification
Minimum one year of recent Med Surg or Ortho experience preferred
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Willingness to float to PCU and behavioral health units

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with IV infusions, heparin, antibiotics, and pain management protocols
Comfortable reading cardiac monitors at the nurses station
Skilled in hourly rounding and bedside shift reporting
Flexible and self-directed approach to changing patient needs
Experience caring for patients with dementia, mental health, and substance use backgrounds
