Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity labor and delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Circulate and assist in C-sections and support scrub role duties in the OR when needed
• Manage IV therapies including drips such as magnesium and other high-acuity interventions
• Triage and stabilize obstetric patients in OB triage and coordinate care with the team
• Collaborate with anesthesiology, neonatology (Level III NICU), and surgical teams for safe, seamless patient care
• Document care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear communication with patients and families

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the appropriate jurisdiction or ability to obtain licensure
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit (experience requirement listed as 2)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Familiarity with fetal heart rate monitoring; AWHONN fetal heart monitoring certification is a plus though not always required
• Comfort with circulating in the OR and assisting with C-sections, epidurals support, spinals, cerclage, and versions
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and float within the women and children service line as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech documentation systems
• Skilled in IV therapy and management of infusion drips like magnesium
• Experience in circulating C-sections and OR teamwork
• Familiarity with PACU processes and Level III NICU coordination
• Strong assessment skills for high acuity obstetric patients and fetal monitoring
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced L&D environment and triage settings
