Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients
- Assess changes in patient condition and intervene quickly using critical thinking
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans
- Administer and titrate IV medications and vasoactive drips with close monitoring
- Perform advanced monitoring and documentation of hemodynamic and ventilatory status
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge needs
- Contribute to a safe unit culture through adherence to policies, infection control, and best practices
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain one
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
- Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced multidisciplinary team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ventilator management and respiratory support for critically ill patients
- Proficient with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of critical care data
- Familiarity with titration of vasoactive and inotropic medications
- Effective communication with providers, patients and families
- Accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
