Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, monitoring conditions closely and responding to changes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy) to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status, interventions and responses in a timely manner
• Administer medications, manage advanced IV therapies and operate/monitor critical care equipment safely
• Recognize and escalate acute changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and prognosis with clarity and empathy
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with policies and protocols

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Louisiana (required)
• Previous ICU experience preferred — strong critical care background welcomed
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex patients and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong communication, critical thinking and clinical assessment skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in critical care patient assessment and monitoring
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced cardiac monitoring
• Comfortable with titratable drips, invasive lines and post-operative critical care
• Skilled in clear communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly in urgent situations
