Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM; Night: 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM), rotating schedule covering all days of the week with an every-other-weekend requirement (Saturday & Sunday). Guaranteed 36 hours/week; orientation includes one shift.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill adult patients in a 33-bed ICU, providing compassionate, high-quality care
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac strips using GE monitors to detect and act on acute changes
• Titrate drips safely and accurately for cardiac support, insulin, and sedation per unit policy
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from high-flow to ventilator setups and escalate to RT as needed
• Document thoroughly in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication with the team
• Provide 1:1 patient care when required and collaborate with nurse aides, RTs and other disciplines
• Respond to trauma and acute cardiac events with confidence and adherence to ACLS protocols
• Participate in unit processes, attend required orientation testing, and maintain professional standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible for practice in Nebraska) required at submission
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS required
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing telemetry patients
• Driver's license required at time of submittal to meet radius rule
• Willingness to adhere to facility policies including fingernail/artificial nail restrictions and orientation exam requirements

Education

• Education not specified; active RN license and required certifications are mandatory

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care and ICU nursing fundamentals
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Drip titration for cardiac drips, insulin and sedation
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system
• Vent troubleshooting and familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Trauma and cardiac post-procedure care including pacemakers and stents
• Working knowledge of GE monitor systems and tele tech collaboration
• Ability to provide focused 1:1 care and adapt when floating to PCU or MedSurg
