Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, prioritizing safety and compassion
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic, ventilator, and telemetry data to inform care decisions
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, adhering to protocols and best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members — physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff — to coordinate care
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record
• Mentor and support colleagues when appropriate and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Hawaii
• Proven ICU or critical care nursing experience (experience with adult critical care preferred)
• Comfort and competence with 12+ hour critical care shifts and a fast-paced environment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care principles and patient assessment
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Skilled in administering IV medications, vasoactive infusions, and titratable drips
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple critically ill patients, and remain calm under pressure
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and bedside teaching ability
