Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, interpreting data to inform timely interventions
• Deliver high-quality critical care nursing, including ventilator and hemodynamic management
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products safely and accurately
• Lead rapid response and code situations with calm, evidence-based action
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and next steps
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly in the medical record
• Support unit initiatives to improve quality, safety, and patient experience

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (ability to obtain Hawaii RN licensure where applicable)
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or required depending on unit
• Previous ICU experience and comfort with high-acuity patients
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced settings
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and any required background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of relevant critical care training or certifications encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in critical care monitoring and interpretation of hemodynamic data
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial lines, and central lines
• Familiarity with ICU medications, titration, and infusion pumps
• Skilled in electronic health record documentation and compliance
• Ability to prioritize and multitask during high-stress clinical situations
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement
