Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Continuously assess and monitor hemodynamic status, ventilator settings and organ function
- Administer medications, titrate infusions and manage complex care plans safely
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members
- Document patient status and interventions thoroughly in the medical record
- Participate in rapid response and code situations with calm, competent action
- Mentor and support colleagues to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential; Hawaii RN licensure or ability to obtain required
- ICU experience (critical care skills and comfort with high-acuity patients)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Strong clinical assessment, prioritization and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and function well in fast-paced ICU environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced knowledge of critical care principles and ICU protocols
- Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Skilled in IV infusions, titration of vasoactive medications and post-op critical care
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-stress situations
