Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in a busy emergency setting.
• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care across a wide range of acute presentations.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform essential emergency procedures safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely patient care.
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and promptly in the chart.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up steps in an approachable way.
• Respond to codes and rapidly evolving situations with calm, decisive action.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (or compact license where applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Prior emergency room nursing experience preferred — even one strong year makes you a great fit.
• Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility policy.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work per diem/PRN shifts and adapt to varying unit demands.

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills to identify critical needs fast.
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, wound care, and basic emergency procedures.
• Clear, concise clinical documentation and charting habits.
• Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate care under pressure.
• Situational awareness and the ability to prioritize multiple patients safely.
