Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to emergency patients
• Perform rapid triage and prioritize care based on clinical need
• Administer medications, start and manage IVs, and monitor patient status
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate care
• Document assessments, treatments, and handoffs clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Respond calmly and effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced situations

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license for California (or compact state privileges where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or depending on facility policy
• Experience or comfort working in an emergency room environment
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in high-pressure settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of RN licensure and required clinical certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with ED workflows and patient flow management
• Clear, timely clinical documentation in electronic health records
• Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams
