Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, STEMI, stroke, and pediatrics.
• Perform advanced skills like central line placement, chest tube insertion, and massive transfusion protocol.
• Triage and manage patients in a fast-paced Level III Trauma and Primary Stroke Center.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of MDs, mid-levels, and techs to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Float between Bryan and College Station campuses (16 minutes apart) as needed.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias independently.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state.
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a similar volume and trauma level setting.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before contract start.
• Comfortable with central lines, MTP, chest tubes, trauma, STEMI, and stroke management.
• No prior employment (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity in past year.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in common ER drips: Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, Propofol, Fentanyl, Levophed.
• Skilled in EMR systems: PulseCheck or Picis.
• Strong ability to manage high-acuity patients and multitask in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
