Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend, self-scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to oncology and trauma patients in a 28-bed PCU/MedSurg unit
Monitor and titrate IV drips including insulin, cardizem, and heparin
Administer chemotherapy (preferred) and manage oncology patient populations
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed, maintaining same level of care
Engage in hourly rounding to ensure patient satisfaction and safety

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of PCU/Oncology experience required
First-time travelers welcome
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
ONS/ONCC certification preferred; chemotherapy certification a plus
EPIC experience within 6 months preferred (not required)
Valid driver's license required for radius verification
Willingness to work with diverse patient populations and cultural backgrounds

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of PCU and oncology nursing principles
Proficient in titrating common IV drips (insulin, cardizem, heparin)
Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, mixed-unit environment
