Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-17-2026

End Date: 09-16-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM), rotating weekends every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy assessments and treatments for acute inpatients
Manage a diverse caseload including general medical, orthopedic, and neurological patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Cover multiple units including Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER
Participate in department orientation and ongoing training

Qualifications

Current California Physical Therapy license
BLS certification required
Acute inpatient PT experience is a must
Experience with general medical, orthopedic, and neurological conditions

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of acute care physical therapy best practices
Skills in patient assessment, treatment planning, and documentation
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
