Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, including both adults and pediatrics
• Manage a fast-paced trauma center with approximately 325 patient visits per day across adult and pediatric ERs
• Perform triage, assess critical patients, and manage holds within the emergency department
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal outcomes
• Float between adult and pediatric ER as needed, utilizing your skills in both settings
• Administer procedural sedation and interpret basic EKGs as part of orientation and ongoing care

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of recent ER experience required - no first-time travelers
• Must have experience in both adult and pediatric emergency care (roughly 50% pediatric population)
• Strong triage skills and ability to handle high patient volumes
• Ability to float to Peds ER and work independently
• Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• NIHSS certification for stroke care
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization in a high-acuity environment
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
