Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional emergency nursing care—assess, triage and stabilize patients quickly and safely
• Perform thorough and timely clinical assessments, interpret vital signs, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, IVs and treatments according to protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and ancillary staff to coordinate efficient patient flow through the ED
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during high-stress situations
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of safety and teamwork at Cottage Hospital

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in New Hampshire (or compact RN license where applicable)
• Experience in Emergency Nursing or Emergency Room settings preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment in an ED environment
• IV access, medication administration and emergency interventions
• Familiarity with common ED procedures and protocols
• Proficient documentation in electronic medical records
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
