Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients, responding quickly to changing clinical needs
• Perform IV starts and accurate medication administration while following scanning and safety protocols every time
• Manage procedural sedation and monitor patients closely throughout recovery
• Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, techs, and unit staff to maintain smooth patient flow in a fast-paced 52-bed ER
• Document care accurately in Meditech and manage infusion therapy using Alaris pumps
• Advocate for patient experience and safety while working within team nursing and established patient ratio expectations

Qualifications

• Active Kansas registered nurse license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with emergency department exposure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; ENPC and NIH certifications required as listed
• Travel nursing experience or experience in large emergency departments preferred
• TNCC and Meditech experience are nice-to-have
• Comfort with IV starts, medication administration, sedations, and pediatric emergency care
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well within a multi-disciplinary team

Education

• Active RN license in Kansas required; ASN/ADN or BSN accepted (BSN preferred when available)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing knowledge and triage skills
• Proficiency with IV starts and medication administration
• Experience with pediatric emergency care and team nursing models
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows
• Experience using Alaris infusion pumps
• Good situational awareness, rapid decision-making, and excellent communication skills
