Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in the ED
• Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize life-saving interventions
• Administer medications, start and manage IV therapy, and carry out interventions per protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and promptly in the chart
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Contribute to unit quality improvement, patient flow, and positive patient experiences

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Hawaii licensure preferred)
• Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience or strong interest in emergency nursing
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or obtainable
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and documentation skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles and rapid patient assessment
• Triage, monitoring, and management of acute conditions
• IV insertion, medication administration, and basic procedural support
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Prioritization and multitasking under pressure
• Team collaboration and clear communication with interdisciplinary staff
• Patient and family education with empathy and clarity
• Adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
