Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in the ED
• Perform rapid assessment, triage and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, IV therapies and wound care per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient response accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge instructions
• Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Contribute to a safe, efficient ED environment through teamwork and effective communication

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire (or compact RN license where applicable)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Emergency Department experience preferred; new grads with ED training considered
• Current CPR certification and proven ability to work in high-acuity situations
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency assessment
• Trauma and acute care nursing knowledge
• IV insertion, medication administration and wound management
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team
• Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure and maintain composure in critical situations
