Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients rapidly and accurately in a busy emergency department
• Stabilize and provide evidence-based care for acute and emergent conditions
• Coordinate with physicians, techs, and ancillary services to streamline patient flow
• Perform timely documentation and handoffs that support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ED outcomes
• Respond to codes and emergency procedures with calm, effective action

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (current) — ready to practice with confidence
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred (ability to thrive in fast-paced settings)
• Comfort with 12.5-hour clinical shifts and flexible scheduling
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to pass standard background checks and facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency nursing workflows
• Advanced patient assessment and acute care interventions
• IV therapy, medication administration, and basic emergency procedures
• Proficient charting and electronic health record documentation
• Team-based care, effective handoffs, and interdepartmental coordination
• Calm decision-making under pressure and strong patient advocacy
