Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients presenting to the emergency department with skill and urgency
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement rapid care plans
• Perform focused clinical procedures such as IV placement, wound care and medication administration
• Monitor patient status continuously and escalate concerns to providers as needed
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Provide compassionate communication to patients and families during stressful situations
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
• Previous emergency department (ED/ER) nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform triage and acute patient assessment
• Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and rapid assessment skills
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration and common ED procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and timely documentation
• Excellent critical thinking and prioritization under pressure
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families and clinical teams
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
