Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Quickly assess and triage patients presenting to the ED to prioritize care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely per protocol
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status clearly and thoroughly
• Respond effectively to emergencies and participate in resuscitation and code team activities
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Comfort and competency working in a fast-paced emergency department environment
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to variable per-diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• IV starts, medication administration, and basic ED procedures
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Prioritization and multitasking under pressure
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
