Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately on arrival to the ED
• Initiate and manage evidence-based emergency care and interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, specialty teams, and support staff to coordinate care
• Perform critical monitoring, medication administration, and procedures as indicated
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient progress clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Respond to trauma and emergency codes with calm, decisive action

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
• Clinical experience in Emergency Department/ER settings preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Current ACLS, PALS, or other specialty certifications as required by the facility
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Clean background check and compliance with facility health requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Experience with acute, trauma, and critical care interventions
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
• Accurate clinical documentation and patient handoff practices
• Patient and family-centered education and discharge planning
