Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Assess, triage and prioritize patients rapidly and accurately in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, start IVs and perform clinical procedures safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and follow-up in a clear, caring way
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in rapid response and resuscitation efforts

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing
• Comfortable working 12+ hour shifts in a dynamic, high-acuity setting
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BSN encouraged for professional development but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV therapy, medication administration and basic ED procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Strong situational awareness and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Clear communication with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
• Basic familiarity with trauma and acute care protocols
