Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the emergency department
• Quickly assess, triage, and prioritize patients with acute and urgent needs
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform essential emergency interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate rapid care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Monitor patient status and escalate concerns promptly to ensure safety
• Maintain a calm, professional presence under pressure and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii license preferred or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous ED/ER nursing experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS encouraged
• Demonstrated ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and manage workload in a fast-paced setting
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively on a team
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment, triage, and stabilization skills
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and common ED procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a dynamic environment
• Clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
