Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency setting
• Provide skilled nursing care for acute and emergent conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the care team to coordinate patient treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
• Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and follow up
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (eligibility for Hawaii RN licensure if not currently licensed)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Experience working in an Emergency Department or high-acuity setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-centered environment
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and stabilization
• Triage and rapid clinical decision making
• IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Electronic medical record documentation and charting
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy ED
