Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert, compassionate care to adult cardiac and post-op CVICU patients
• Monitor and interpret advanced hemodynamic data and telemetry to guide timely interventions
• Administer and titrate vasoactive drips and critical medications per protocol
• Manage complex lines, drains, chest tubes and ventilators with meticulous attention
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families about recovery, cardiac care and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress clearly and professionally
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact RN licensure accepted
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU or cardiac critical care experience (as indicated in posting)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Demonstrated proficiency with telemetry, ventilators and vasoactive infusions
• Strong assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and credentialing within required timeframes

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
• Hemodynamic assessment and interpretation (including use of arterial and central lines)
• Ventilator management and post-operative respiratory care
• Infusion pump management and safe medication administration
• Excellent clinical judgment, situational awareness and effective communication
• Electronic medical record documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration
