Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients in a busy Burn/Trauma/Surgical unit, maintaining a typical 2:1 patient ratio
• Perform advanced bedside procedures such as wound care, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, and participate in massive transfusion protocol (MTP)
• Lead and participate in codes and emergency responses with calm, decisive action
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR and maintain clear communication across interdisciplinary teams
• Apply critical thinking to assess rapidly changing conditions and escalate concerns appropriately
• Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to support unit needs and provide reliable coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (Trauma, Burn, or Surgical ICU experience required)
• Strong communication skills and proven critical thinking under pressure
• Comfort with critical care equipment and ICU-level monitoring
• Willingness to float to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU as needed

Education

• BSN preferred
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing fundamentals and advanced critical care practices
• Experience with Meditech EMR documentation
• Wound care techniques specific to burn and trauma patients
• EVD management and familiarity with massive transfusion protocols (MTP)
• Ability to respond effectively to codes and emergent situations
• Team-oriented approach and strong situational awareness
