Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care including C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Manage acute gynecologic emergencies such as ectopic pregnancies and ovarian torsion
• Perform procedures including suction D&C and manage abnormal bleeding
• Triage and care for unreferred patients as the Laborist on duty
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, nurses, and surgical assistants to ensure safe patient transitions
• Document clinical encounters thoroughly and accurately in EPIC

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and completion of Obstetrics & Gynecology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology preferred
• Active or eligible for Virginia medical license (temp/locum privileges may be supported)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Proven experience performing C-sections and managing labor and delivery
• Comfortable working in hospital-based OBGYN practice and handling obstetric emergencies
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record preferred

Education

• MD or DO in Medicine, completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynecology procedures and emergency management
• Proficiency with EPIC or willingness to learn quickly
• Strong clinical decision making in acute care and labor management
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary hospital staff
• Ability to triage and prioritize under on-call conditions
• Compassionate patient-centered care and effective documentation skills
