Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans that restore function and independence
• Deliver evidence-based manual therapy and therapeutic exercise with compassion and precision
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions to achieve meaningful patient outcomes
• Document clinical findings and treatment in the electronic medical record clearly and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab teammates to coordinate holistic care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and discharge planning
• Support a culture of safety and quality by following facility protocols and best practices

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in California or ability to obtain licensure quickly
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• PRN or short-term contract experience preferred; comfort working varied days including weekends
• Strong clinical assessment and manual therapy skills, plus reliable documentation habits
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative attitude in interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s or Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy accepted from accredited programs

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and progression
• Proficient with therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait training, and mobility aids
• Comfortable with electronic medical record documentation and outcome tracking
• Knowledge of discharge planning and patient/family education techniques
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and work efficiently in a fast-paced rehab setting
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients of varied needs and backgrounds

This is a travel/contract role — welcome to Salinas and the Monterey Peninsula playground. Spend your off time exploring the National Steinbeck Center, taking scenic drives along 17-Mile Drive, wandering Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, or enjoying Carmel-by-the-Sea’s shops and beaches.
