Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including manual therapy and therapeutic exercise
• Assess mobility, gait, and functional needs; provide gait training and assistive device education
• Document progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety, and injury prevention
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate appropriate referrals to community resources
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility policies

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist license or eligible for licensure in MA
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT or Master's)
• Clinical experience in acute, inpatient rehab, or outpatient settings preferred; new grads considered
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in therapeutic exercise prescription and manual therapy techniques
• Experience with gait training, balance interventions, and assistive device recommendations
• Skilled in patient assessment, functional outcome measures, and care planning
• Comfortable using electronic medical records for documentation
• Ability to work with diverse adult and geriatric populations with a patient-centered approach
• Strong problem-solving, clinical reasoning, and interpersonal skills
