Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional mobility and establish individualized treatment plans that make a measurable difference
• Deliver hands-on therapy, therapeutic exercise, and gait training to help patients regain independence
• Use appropriate modalities and assistive devices to optimize recovery outcomes
• Document clinical findings, progress, and discharge plans accurately in the EHR
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility strategies
• Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care to ensure continuity and safety

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Maryland or eligible for Maryland licensure
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
• BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with adult and geriatric populations in a rehab setting
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
• Bachelor's or Master's in a related field may be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Manual therapy and therapeutic exercise techniques
• Gait training and use of mobility aids
• Clinical assessment and outcome measure selection
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort using EHR systems
• Patient and family education with a focus on functional goals
• Time management and caseload prioritization
