Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, evidence-based rehabilitative treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Deliver manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation assistance and use of assistive devices to improve patient function
• Accurately document all treatment details and treatment minutes in the electronic medical record per regulatory requirements
• Assess patient progress and communicate adjustments and outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on treatment plans, safety and functional strategies
• Participate in care conferences, utilization review and interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate care
• Assist the supervising therapist with DME/supplies coordination and discharge planning input
• Supervise and support students during Level II clinical experiences under PT guidance

Qualifications

• Active PTA license in Oklahoma required at time of submission
• Active OT license required at time of submission (as noted in profile requirements)
• Minimum 1+ years PTA experience required; LTC or rehab experience required
• New graduates considered if they have Level II clinical experience (not Level I observation only)
• Comfortable and accurate with electronic documentation and recording treatment minutes
• Able to participate in required trainings, meetings and facility in-services
• Willingness to supervise students and work collaboratively with the rehab team

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and outcome reporting
• Skilled rehabilitative interventions including manual therapy and therapeutic exercise
• Ambulation assistance and assistive/supportive device training
• Use of modalities and DME coordination
• Regulatory compliance with APTA and state practice acts
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education skills
• Experience with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
