Roles & Responsibilities

• Process and prepare medications accurately and efficiently
• Support pharmacists by maintaining organized medication records
• Manage inventory, restock supplies, and monitor expiration dates
• Follow facility policies and correctional health protocols at ISP - Ironwood State Prison
• Communicate clearly with the healthcare team to ensure safe patient care
• Participate in the orientation process and ongoing training activities

Qualifications

• PHTEC classification / Pharmacy Technician credential (PHTEC) noted for this role
• Current pharmacy technician registration or certification as required by state or facility
• Comfort working in a correctional facility environment (ISP - Ironwood State Prison)
• Reliable, professional, and able to complete the two-week orientation

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program or equivalent (PHTEC) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing
• Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills within a clinical setting
• Basic inventory management and record-keeping abilities
• Ability to follow strict policies and maintain confidentiality
