Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary circulating nursing care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety from pre-op through transfer to PACU
• Coordinate intraoperative patient care and anticipate surgical team needs to keep cases running smoothly
• Prepare and maintain the OR environment, equipment, and supplies for each procedure
• Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic technique throughout the case
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to support efficient workflow
• Document intraoperative events and patient care accurately and promptly
• Assist with turnover between cases to optimize OR utilization and patient throughput

Qualifications

• Peri-Op 101 Certification (required)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• CNOR certification preferred
• Proven independence across service lines: Urology, Vascular, Orthopedics, Pain management, Spine, Eyes (Ophthalmology), and Plastics
• Ability to work variable start/stop times on weekdays and adapt to changing case schedules

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating room circulation and intraoperative patient care
• Peri-operative nursing best practices and sterile technique
• Experience with Urology, Vascular, Orthopedics, Spine, Ophthalmology and Plastics cases
• Strong situational awareness and ability to anticipate team needs
• Clear, calm communication during high-stakes surgical procedures
• Efficient OR turnover and instrumentation handling
