Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and create individualized occupational therapy plans that restore independence
• Deliver skilled rehabilitation interventions focused on activities of daily living and meaningful participation
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes in a timely, professional manner
• Educate patients and caregivers to promote safe home strategies and continued recovery
• Apply best-practice techniques and safety protocols to maximize functional gains and reduce risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current state Occupational Therapy license (must be valid for Texas assignment)
• NBCOT certification required
• Current BCLS (AHA) / BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of clinical occupational therapy experience
• AOTA and OTAC membership preferred
• DCI/BVP certification preferred
• Ability to meet pre-employment requirements including immunizations, TB testing, fit testing, and a 10-panel drug screen

Education

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment and rehabilitation planning
• Experience with ADL training and functional interventions
• Strong clinical reasoning and ability to measure progress toward functional goals
• Effective communicator who collaborates well across interdisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of basic life support and safety protocols
• Comfortable with competency exams and skills checklists required for assignment
