Medical Assistant - Outpatient
Location: St. Louis, MO
Start Date: 04-01-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Candidate Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform patient check-ins and prepare patients for exams with care and professionalism
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and communicate findings to the clinical team
- Assist clinicians during procedures and help maintain a smooth clinic flow
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record and ensure documentation is complete
- Support a welcoming environment by answering patient questions and coordinating follow-up
- Participate in orientation and training to maintain competency and compliance
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant diploma or certificate preferred, or equivalent experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong patient-service orientation and excellent communication skills
- Prior outpatient clinic experience a plus
- Ability to complete a 4-hour orientation session as part of onboarding
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable taking vitals, performing basic clinical tasks, and assisting providers
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate data entry
- Good time management and ability to support clinic flow under busy conditions
- Teamwork mindset with a focus on patient-centered care
- Basic infection control and safety practices
