Medical Assistant - Ambulatory
Location: Spokane, WA
Start Date: 03-31-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Morning AM ambulatory shift, 4-hour shift (exact start/end times not specified in job posting; schedule to be confirmed with the facility)
Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients and take accurate vital signs to support safe, efficient visits
- Assist providers with exams and ambulatory procedures, maintaining patient comfort
- Perform point-of-care testing and basic specimen collection per protocol
- Document encounters and charting in the electronic health record with attention to detail
- Manage appointment flow and help coordinate patient check-in/check-out
- Maintain clean, safe exam rooms and ensure infection control standards are met
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education and instructions
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent clinical certification preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Prior ambulatory or clinical experience preferred (even a year makes a difference)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by the facility
- Must meet any state-specific licensure or registration requirements for Washington
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant certificate, diploma, or completed training program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Strong skills in taking vitals, phlebotomy, and basic clinical procedures
- Familiarity with point-of-care testing and specimen handling
- Excellent communication, patient service, and teamwork skills
- Understanding of HIPAA, infection control, and ambulatory clinic workflows
