Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside nursing care to residents and patients in accordance with plan of care
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility policies and state regulations
• Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition to the care team promptly
• Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Support patients' activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
• Participate in shift handoffs and accurate charting to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification — recommended or required per facility
• Comfortable with medication administration, documentation, and resident care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a local team
• Background check and health screenings as required by facility policy

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medication administration and basic nursing interventions
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs, and recognizing changes in condition
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy long-term care environment
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Basic wound care and infection control practices
