Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct timely crisis assessments for individuals at risk of harm to self or others, using evidence-based approaches.
Develop and implement individualized safety and treatment plans that focus on stabilization and reducing hospitalizations.
Provide ongoing clinical support and mental health counseling to help clients maintain stability in the community.
Work directly with patients experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders to coordinate appropriate care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and effective transitions across services.
Support patients in developing coping strategies and link them to community resources for sustained recovery.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation to support quality care and outcomes.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences required.
Minimum 2 years of clinical mental health counseling experience.
Active Alaska Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
Strong knowledge of DSM-V diagnoses and contemporary treatment approaches.
Excellent communication and clinical documentation skills.
Preferred: Doctorate in Psychology or Social Work, Alaska Licensed Psychologist, 3+ years counseling experience (inpatient & outpatient), experience with pharmacological treatments in behavioral health.

Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences

Crisis assessment and safety planning
Treatment planning and ongoing clinical support
DSM-V diagnostic skills
Experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders
Interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination
Accurate clinical documentation and record-keeping
Familiarity with pharmacological treatments in behavioral health (preferred)
