Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and toileting while promoting dignity and independence
• Take and record vital signs, monitor resident condition, and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to protect residents and staff
• Document care accurately and timely in the assigned charting system
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience in geriatric or long-term care settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Reliable, compassionate, and respectful approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) support and basic nursing tasks
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
