Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly to support safe, timely care
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment
• Help maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents by following infection control and safety protocols
• Provide meaningful companionship and engage residents in social and therapeutic activities to promote well-being
• Accurately document care provided and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and any required facility screenings
• Comfort working with geriatric populations and a passion for elder care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Knowledge of infection prevention, safety practices, and proper body mechanics
• Familiarity with basic resident documentation and reporting
• Compassionate bedside manner and skills for supporting activities of daily living
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from nursing staff
