Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support comfort measures and promote resident dignity and independence
• Follow individualized care plans and assist with implementing treatments as directed
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control protocols
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with family members and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or as required by the facility
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to pass background check, health screenings, and required onboarding

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
• Additional healthcare training or coursework a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Safe patient handling, transfer techniques, and fall prevention awareness
• Basic vital signs measurement and accurate documentation skills
• Keen observation and reporting abilities to identify changes in condition
• Teamwork, time management, and a calm approach in busy overnight shifts
