Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem schedule (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, supporting dignity and independence
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Help with safe transfers and mobility support as directed
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Accurately document care, observations, and resident responses
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility procedures
- Collaborate with team members to create a comforting environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification (state requirements apply)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Comfortable working with older adults and those with cognitive impairments
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care needs
- Basic observation and documentation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with residents
- Basic mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
