Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ER setting
• Stabilize and manage acute conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Administer medications, monitor treatments, and document care with precision
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to provide compassionate support
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge plans to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to elevate patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of California (or compact license where applicable)
• Emergency Department experience preferred; per diem ER experience a strong plus
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred or obtained shortly after hire
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization skills, and ability to thrive in urgent situations
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability on busy night shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency nursing assessments and trauma care basics
• Familiarity with EHR documentation and accurate charting practices
• Ability to manage multiple critical patients and prioritize workflows
• Skills in IV therapy, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and emergency protocols
• Calm under pressure with strong de-escalation and patient advocacy skills
