Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations of all body parts for accurate interpretation
• Operate CT and X-ray equipment, set up and run automatic contrast injectors as needed
• Apply radiation protection principles and consistently maintain image quality
• Assist with interventional procedures and prepare the procedure area and equipment
• Perform venipuncture and manage contrast administration with attention to age-based dosing and contraindications
• Maintain patient records, ensure proper tele-radiology transmission, and follow QA/QC protocols
• Participate in departmental quality assurance, daily/weekly QC tasks, supply inventory and ordering
• Transfer and position patients safely, using appropriate techniques for all age groups
• Provide cross-modality support as assigned (XR, MRI, CT, Mammography) and pursue competency in ancillary modalities

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (Radiography) certification — required
• Clinical competency demonstration required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Able to perform all diagnostic exams relevant to assigned modality
• Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric, adolescent and geriatric modifications to protocols
• Competency or willingness to be trained in sterile technique, tele-radiology transmission, and venipuncture
• Willingness to rotate shifts and be available for on-call responsibilities

Education

• Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
• Clinical competency to be achieved within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiologic technology fundamentals (CT, diagnostic radiography, X-ray)
• Radiation safety and protection practices
• Image acquisition and quality optimization
• Quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures
• Contrast administration and automatic injector operation
• Patient positioning, transfer and age-appropriate care
• Experience with tele-radiology and sterile technique
• Ability to adjust protocols for pediatric and geriatric patients
