Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents including bathing, dressing and assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics to protect residents and staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to create positive resident outcomes and a great resident experience
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license/certification (required)
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required by facility policy)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility requirements
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing as required by the facility
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude
- Comfort with physical aspects of the role including lifting and assisting residents
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care best practices
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and PPE use
- Basic charting/documentation skills; comfort learning electronic medical records if used
- Teamwork mindset and clear communication with clinical staff
- Attention to detail and reliable time management
