Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and feeding
- Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to promote resident well-being
- Follow infection prevention protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear communication
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (PA certification preferred or required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts and reliably report to Smethport facility
- Comfortable with hands-on resident care and lifting with assistance
- Successful completion of background check and any required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care basics and ADL assistance
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Basic infection control practices
- Safe resident transfer and mobility techniques
- Effective communication with residents, families and clinical staff
- Time management and dependable attendance
- Empathy, patience and strong observational skills
