Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, helping with daily living activities and dignity-preserving support
- Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and toileting while promoting resident independence
- Measure and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care and any observations
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents and team members safe
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Pennsylvania
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/vaccinations
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but not always required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and activities of daily living (ADL) support
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, safe transfers, infection control
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and other staff
- Empathy, patience, and strong observational skills
