Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Take and accurately record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff
- Document care and patient interactions clearly in the medical record
- Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics
- Maintain infection control practices and ensure a clean, safe environment
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Pennsylvania
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or required per facility
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Reliable transportation to the facility in Orwigsburg, PA
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs, patient hygiene and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with infection control standards and basic safety protocols
- Basic charting skills and comfort learning electronic medical records
- Good communication, teamwork, and time management
- Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes promptly
